Help to Buy now available across England, Scotland & Wales

Help to Buy is a Government-backed initiative created to help home buyers into a new-build home with a smaller deposit.

It depends on the area and property value of your house

The Knowsley House that I am going to purchase is corresponding to Council Tax Band D (GBP 1,294 /year)

GBP 1,294/year = HK$15,628/year = HK$ 3,882/quarter = HK$1,294/month

Not expensive at all when comparing to HK standard for a 4 Bedroom Detached House (1,852 sq ft)

Empty Unoccupied & Unfurnished Discount

A discount of 50% is applicable for the first 6 months in which a property is unoccupied and unfurnished. Entitlement to this discount commences on the date the property first becomes unoccupied and unfurnished.

In order for a new period of discount to be granted there must be a minimum occupation period of 6 weeks.

New Property Discount

Newly built properties that enter the Valuation List for the first time, providing that they remain continually vacant, will receive 100% discount for the first three months; a 50% discount will be applied for the next period of 3 months, and after this time Council Tax will be payable at the full charge.
