在 G8 内有 4 個 Bay = HDD x 4，加上机身加 HDD x 2部及頂部Slim-DVD-ROM 位加上 SSD <<<佢加左張SAS 2 Port Raid卡梗係得啦

在 G7 N54L 内有 4 個 Bay = HDD x 4，加上頂部 DVD/BD-ROM 位最多叠上 HDD x 2

全用上 6 HDD 組合，G7 要否加咭 ?

唔使

行 RAID 1，可用 Synology Hybrid RAID (SHR)

其實是否也可用 SHR 行 RAID 5 / RAID 6 / RAID 10 ?

G7 有mod BIOS 先可以有 port 5/6 AHCI，hot plug同boot from 3rd party RAID CARD 㗎

同埋要用新版BIOS 先可以完整 support windows server 2012， 但就無左先前mod BIOS版咁多功能

I only use the N54L with Synology DSM 5.1 with 4 HDD only

The hot-swap function and 5th SATA port are good to have but not necessary at this moment.

How useful is the extra RAM in the Gen 8 or N54L ?

At present, my N54L is supplied with 4GB RAM for use with Synology DSM 5.1.

Any benefits if I add another 4GB RAM to it or add RAM may just be a waste ?

玩DSM, 2G ram都有多。

只用來做storage，54L夠哂。

G8主要分別在於可換CPU，可玩高速既野。
